The owner of two corgis is now grieving the loss of one of his dogs after he dropped both dogs off to a grooming appointment and was told that one of them died during that same appointment.
Chuck Crawford told NJ.com that he dropped his two corgis Abby and Harley, off at the PetSmart in Toms River, for their scheduled grooming appointment on March, 29th. An hour later, Crawford said he received a call saying Abby died during the appointment and he needed to come pick up her carcass.
Crawford told NJ.com that he is in “extreme anger and extreme grief,” because he does not know what happened to his dog while both animals where in the care of the store.
According to the report, this is the third reported death at a NJ PetSmart in five months. A customer reported the death of her dog at a Flemington PetSmart on Dec. 24th and another woman lost her bulldog at the same location on Dec. 29th.
PetSmart released a statement expressing their sympathy for the pet owners and said none of the deaths are related.
Abby’s death is currently under internal review.
