A grand jury has indicted former Young and the Restless actor, Corey Sligh on several child molestation charges earlier this week.
According to the police report, the 30-year-old was originally arrested on molestation charges at his home in Canton, Georgia in October of 2016, after the parents of a young girl claimed Sligh molested their daughter between the months of April and September. Sligh was picked up by authorities in the following weeks of the claim, however, he was released on $22,000 bail. The actor was then again arrested on similar charges in November, when another girl’s parent told authorities that Sligh inappropriately touched her daughter and made her touch him, while her family was on vacation in Florida. In that case, he was released on $100,000 bail.
Both cases have since been moved to federal court where a grand jury indicted the actor on both charges Monday. If convicted, the actor faces up to 20 years in prison.
In a brief statement Sligh said he will fight his convictions to the end.
“I am innocent and fighting this until the end,” he said. “The truth will prevail.”
Sligh last appeared on the Young and the Restless as a bartender and a waiter. Before that he also appeared as an extra in the 2008 movie God Is Dead, and co-starred in the web series All About Lizzie.
