FSU Beats #1 Seed Xavier, Heads to Sweet 16

Florida State is in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament for the first time in seven years.

The ninth-seeded Seminoles advanced by coming from behind to knock off number-one seed Xavier, 75 to 70, at Nashville Sunday night.

Junior guard P.J. Savoy’s three-pointer gave FSU its first lead of the second half at 71-70 with 1:08 remaining.


The Noles next play number-four Gonzaga on Thursday night in Los Angeles.
