Jazz Legend Al Jarreau Dead at 76

Seven-time Grammy Award-winning jazz and pop singer Al Jarreau has died in Los Angeles at the age of 76.

The singer, who is the only vocalist to have won Grammys in the jazz, pop, and R&B categories, was admitted into a Los Angeles hospital earlier this month and announced he was retiring from touring, cancelling upcoming tour dates…

He brought his music to new audiences in the pop world and through television appearances…

His theme for the late 1980s television show “Moonlighting,” for which he wrote the lyrics, cemented his place in pop culture.

He was in the hospital being treated for exhaustion, but the exact cause of death is not clear.

It’s sad that Al Jarreau died hours before Sunday’s Grammy awards, the biggest night of the year for the music industry…
