The LAPD says they are currently investigating a possible hate crime, after the Los Angeles home of Lebron James was targeted by vandals.
TMZ reported Wednesday that someone spray painted the “N” word across the gate of the NBA star’s home.
The graffiti was covered up by the house’s property management company when it was discovered, however detectives say they are continuing to review security footage to determine their suspects and will release an official report later today.
James is not thought to be currently living in LA as his primary residence during the NBA season is in Akron, Ohio and his is currently preparing for the Cleveland Cavaliers’ NBA Finals series against the Golden State Warriors.
This will be James’ seventh consecutive NBA Finals and third against the Warriors, according to USAToday. Last season he helped the Cavaliers take home the championship after defeating the Warriors.
