Los Angeles residents missed part of the Olympics after NBC cut into its scheduled broadcast Tuesday night to live-stream a crazy car chase between LAPD officers and a car thief.
The interruption of scheduled television programs due to car chases is reportedly a regularity for L.A residents, and the live-stream started off, as usual, displaying a stolen pick-up truck fleeing, but then an insane twist occurred when the car thief t-boned a Taxi and then drove into a train tunnel to evade police.
One of the wildest endings to an LA police chase we’ve ever seen … suspect with at least 4 GTA stars t-bones taxi then goes into the train tunnel and disappears with the ninja turtles. pic.twitter.com/jjCz5QlAAw tweet
Authorities later apprehended the suspect underground but not before causing a stir amongst L.A residents who changed the channel to follow the story even after the Olympics proceeded to play.
