Playing Music too Loud in Vehicles Could Now Result in Arrest in Miami

Not too worried about your hearing? Well now authorities in Miami are giving visitors and residents a new reason not to blast their music while driving.

Starting this weekend, authorities in Miami Beach will be enforcing a noise ordinance that applies mostly to drivers.

According to Ernesto Rodriguez of the Miami Beach Police department, drivers will first receive a warning if authorities believe their music is too loud. A second offense, however, will result in an arrest.

Business owners like Mitch Novick spoke to WSVN, stating that the ordinance is something he been something he has been fighting for, for the last five years.

“I’ve been appearing before the commission for five years now, ” he said. “This is a monumental, great step to turn things around and I applaud the Miami Beach Police Department.”

Other’s believe that the noise should be expected, as the location draws lots of tourist and traffic year round.
