Teacher babysits former student’s newborn so she can attend job fair

A teacher came to the aid of a former student after receiving a message on Facebook asking for help.

Larresha Plummer, 18, of Chicago messaged her former teacher on Facebook because she needed help getting to a job fair.

The new mother who is a soon-to-be freshman at Kennedy-King College was hoping to land a part-time position to support her 1-month-old daughter, Taliyah but needed help getting there.

Carter stepped in taking it a step further by not only driving her former student to the job fair but also sat in the car with the newborn child.

The heartwarming story went viral after Carter recorded part of the event on Facebook-Live in early August.

The teacher who once taught social studies and science to Plummer, a 2018 graduate of Englewood High School in Chicago said she shared the story to ask her followers to give diapers and clothing to the struggling mom and her baby.

Plummer has since received donations as well as multiple job offers.

She even accepted a part-time job last week!
