Sunday, the Venezuelan government made arrests in connection with an apparent assassination attempt on President Nicolás Maduro.
Investigators have detained 6 people in connection to the assassination attempt but also allege that the detained suspects conspired with others in Miami and the capital of neighboring Colombia.
On Monday, White House officials denied any form of involvement in the attack.
Interior Minister Néstor Luis Reverol said six “terrorists” had been detained Sunday, a day after the government said drones carrying explosives had targeted Maduro in the midst of a nationally televised address.
Maduro was unharmed in the incident.
