A South Carolina woman is accused of murdering her husband by poisoning him with over the counter eye drops.
Lana Sue Clayton allegedly admitted to killing her husband Steven Clayton by spiking his water for a 3-day span at the family home in Clover, SC.
She was arrested and charged with murder after toxicologists found poisonous levels of tetrahydrozoline in the victim’s body.
Steven died on July 21., after succumbing to the poisoning which occurred from July 19 to the day of his death, according to the arrest report.
In addition to murder, Lana is also charged with unlawful malicious tampering of food after reportedly admitting to the crime.
Neighbors say the 64-year-old’s funeral was held earlier this month at the family home before detectives determined his cause of death.
